Job Purpose
To provide full dispensary services, ensuring that medicines and drugs are correctly dispensed and that all dispensary procedures, guidelines, legal and medical requirements are followed.

Main responsibilities
1. Dispense drugs and medicines as required in accordance with agreed procedures and guidelines.
2. Develop and implement all necessary procedures and guidelines to ensure the effective dispensing and control of drugs and medicines and monitor these to ensure that they are kept up to date.
3. Give professional pharmaceutical advice to medical and professional staff and customers.
4. Maintain all required records relating to the issues of drugs and medicines and ensure that these are kept confidential
5. Take all necessary steps to ensure that drugs and medicines are stored securely and in the right conditions.
6. Develop and maintain all necessary procedures and controls to ensure that statutory requirements are complied with.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drugs and medicines and pharmacy practice to ensure that services provided are of the highest standard.
8. Observe all requirements to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

. A degree in pharmacy; Ideally, further clinical qualifications;
. At least 3 years' experience of working in a pharmacy;
. Experience of drug monitoring;
. Good interpersonal skills and experience of patient counselling;
