Purpose of the Job For its newly established operations in Beirut, Lebanon, Crane & Hammer are looking to employ a Commercial Director for its Levant Operations based out of Beirut, Lebanon. The main purpose of the role will be to develop .and direct the implementation of commercial policies to improve current business and identify new market opportunities, and to ensure the effective development and promotion of the company's services and achievement of its business objectives.
Main responsibilities 1. Identify and develop new initiatives to improve the range and quality of the services provided by the company and to ensure responsiveness to changes in the external environment. 2. Develop and implement all necessary commercial policies and procedures to ensure the effective promotion and marketing of the company and to meet business objectives. 3. Oversee research into new and established markets to develop products and services that meet market demands and which are consistent with the company's corporate strategy. 4. Develop and maintain effective communications with new and existing customers to negotiate contracts that contribute to corpor¬ate objectives. 5. Develop and maintain effective communications with internal managers to keep aware of the company's delivery capabilities and to inform them of new sales developments. 6. Promote and represent the interests of the company at senior levels, including to central and local government, key customers, the voluntary sector and commercial and trade organizations. 7. Direct and control the directorate's finances to ensure that all financial targets are met and to promote effective budgeting and cost controL 8. Contribute to the development of the company's corporate strat¬egy, qS part of the corporate management team, with particular reference to the development of the company's commercial objectives. 9. Direct and control the staff of the directorate to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and are working towards the achievement of the company's corporate objectives.

. A degree-level qualification in Business Management / Administration, preferably preceded by a degree in an engineering discipline. . Significant experience in a commercial function of no less than 10 years in total with at least 3 years in a position of the same level; . Extensive management experience, in a similar or equivalent position with substantial people and department managment responsibilities; . An established track record in the field of Marketing, Sales & Commercial disciplines in Construction Management environment; . detailed knowledge of the Construction Management / EPCM Environment; . Experience in the Civil / Building / Chemicals sectors are preferred but not a must; . Interpersonal skills of the highest order.
